Germany not Buying Kinect
Perhaps flailing your body to play a video game isn’t dignified enough for Germans. Whatever the reason is, Germany is not buying Kinect. Whereas the rest of the world bought a ton of the camera based system in its first month of release, Germans bought less than 25,000.
Only one Kinect game, Kinect Sports, has sold more than 10,000 copies since launch. That puts Germany way at the bottom of the list of countries buying the camera based gaming peripheral. With less than 1% of the worldwide sales of Kinect, I’m guessing that frees any M-rated Kinect games from having to edit their content.
Of course, there are no M-rated Kinect games yet. When there are, it will be interesting if they sell any better than M-rated Wii games.
