Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot curtly confirmed the existence of HD Splinter Cell remakes in a conference call recently. The existence of a Splinter Cell collection popped out around the same time as the Prince of Persia collection – the first of which is now available on the PlayStation Network.

Though no details about the collection are yet known, it’s safe to say it’ll follow the same production path as Prince of Persia. It will probably include the PS2-era trilogy – Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, updated to 720p visuals and 3D for those with capable TVs.

I’m interested to see if these games will be updated at all. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge Splinter Cell fan, but going back is very, very hard. I tried playing Double Agent a few months ago and it was like operating a complicated tank.

    I’m curious…
Are they going to use the superior graphics found in the PC version of the more recent games? Or they are going to use only the butchered PS2 ports.
