Activision released a little game this week that you may have heard of. It’s called Call of Duty Black Ops. It will probably sell more units than anything else released this year, even more than the Kinect.
So when the Machinima Respawn crew thought about how they could also make the release of Black Ops special in their own way, they come up with a plan: play Call of Duty Black Black Ops continuously until they reached the fifteenth prestige level. That means 24 hours a day, seven days a week, round the clock. Then they decided that they should share the experience of such an insane stunt with the entire Machinima audience. To that end, they decided to live stream the entire marathon.
From midnight on launch day until the fifteenth prestige, every minute of Call of Duty Black Ops will be live streamed via Ustream.tv. The player roster is made up of more than a dozen employees of Machinima, including Hutch, SeaNanners, Mr Sark, and The Dead Pixel. Each player will take a four hour shift to help level up the account from one to 50… fifteen straight times.
As of this writing, it took 38 straight hours of gaming to reach the first prestige level. Be sure and tune in to the stream, which will be running into the foreseeable future.
