Kinect Developer Claims Controller/Kinect Games Coming

So you may not be sold on hopping around like an idiot to play video games, but what if you hop around like an idiot and press buttons? That’s a future predicted by Kinect developer Alex Kipman.
“We’ll continue to have controller-only games. We love controller-free games, we love Kinect experiences and we’ll continue to grow our set of those as well. What we haven’t really talked about, but exist, are hybrid games,” Kipman said.
Nintendo has merged traditional and unconventional controls in Wii games and DS games for years now, which proves there is a place for combination controls in gaming.
“Games that are using the controller, which we know and love, and pieces, if not all, of the Kinect experiences to again make those experiences more immersive, more fun and more emotionally connected,” Kipman said.
Kipman also re-stated the Microsoft line that controllers are the single greatest barrier to gaming, and that the Kinect will remove that barrier.
“I couldn’t stand behind that statement more strongly,” Kipman said. “As I look at technology I find people in my genre of work are busy putting more gadgets and more gizmos in your hand. In this world you’re having to take more time to learn technology and you become essentially enslaved to it.”
That may be but you guys probably feel pretty good enslaved to that controller. For more insights, check the full interview on GamesIndustry.biz.

Personally, I love the idea of a hybrid. I wont be talking to my TV or dancing around, but small interactions would be cool.
E.G. Throw grenade, slap someone, fix something, flush toilet, and do I dare say, climb in AC3?
