Publisher D3 has graciously provided us with a host of new details regarding Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon. Following a quiet website launch a week ago, we now have screens, details, and a projected release window. Slated to come out in Spring 2011, Insect Armageddon will support three player co-op through the campaign and six-player survival against waves of killer insects and mecha-insects. You’ll be able to squash the bugs with 150 different weapons while wearing one of four upgradable armor sets.

Perhaps best of all, the game is being developed by Vicious Cycle Software, the weirdos behind Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard. They’ve already proven they have the humor, here’s hoping they have the shooter. Click below for more screenshots and box art. As previously mentioned, Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon will release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 next Spring.
