Acclaim Finally, Completely Dead

Following a couple of years of death rattles, longtime game publisher Acclaim has finally given up the ghost. The following notice delivers the grave news:

We regret to inform you that all Acclaim games will no longer be in service effective August 26, 2010

Any unused Acclaim Coins can be reimbursed by emailing transition@acclaim.com (please include your Acclaim username).
Must be from the email address used to register your account so we can verify your identity.
*9Dragons players only:  We will refund any purchases made within the last 30 days.

The company actually died first in 2004, when Acclaim Games (unrelated) purchased the logo and brand. Now even that initiative is dead, perhaps carrying the mark of death with it. While the company hasn’t been relevant for years, it’s still sad to see an aged company die. Let’s pour one out for our fallen brothers.
