Sony’s ongoing quest to sweeten the Plus pot continues today with discounted replacement plans. The PS3 plan, which normally costs $60 for two years, will only run Plus subscribers $45. This is in addition to the year warranty provided by Sony, and will “include free shipping, no hidden fees or deductibles and utilization of OEM parts and service technicians” according to the PlayStation Blog. The plan can be purchased on the PlayStation Store like so many crappy PSX games and themes.

Discounts on games and early access to demos were expected, but now Sony’s extending perks into other parts of the business. This is an interesting trend that will hopefully go crazy places.
