PixelJunk Racers Update Only Available to PlayStation Plus Subs

Sony’s been trying really hard to justify a paid subscription. First they offer free games, then they say you can sidestep the annoying 30-minute weekly system update. Now they’re even withholding regular game updates from the unwashed and unplussed. PixelJunk Racers will receive a “2nd lap” update on August 24 that updates the game’s difficulty in addition to adding leaderboards and trophies. PlayStation Plus subscribers can access the update now.

The update is obviously complete and ready to go, or it wouldn’t be going to Plus subscribers. Maybe it’s simply because demos are free that it’s okay for subscribers to receive early access, but now you’re telling a purchaser of PixelJunk Racers that they’re only deserving of second-tier support because they’re not paying more. Shiesty.
