Nomura Would Love a TWEWY Sequel

And I love that The World Ends With You has such a goofy acronym. In a comment to Nintendo Power, TWEWY Character Designer Tetsuya Nomura stated that he would “love” to make a sequel to the game, but is unfortunately busy at the moment.

“I’m really happy that the game was so well received in North America. I definitely want to make a sequel. I’m very busy working on other titles right now, but when the time is right, I would love to make another installment of The World Ends with You,” Nomura said.

Unlike other recent Square Enix RPGs, The World Ends With You was not written, directed, or designed by Nomura (which, honestly, is probably the reason for its success in the West). I’ll quietly hope that his role will stay at character design and artwork for any future projects.
