Game Industry is Still Huge

The last few years have been bad for the global economy. Though impacted as well, the game industry is still fairly healthy according to the ESA’s latest report.

Games are now a $5 billion industry in the US. Certain sectors of the industry, such as social, have very dubious numbers, but I’d say that’s a good indication of the power of the game industry nowadays.

41% of workers in the game industry are in California, with Washington and Texas filling out the top three. With the industry going even more global the last few years, hopefully the industry will still have strong growth going forward and we avoid the stagnation that has hit the Japanese game industry.
