Double Fine Partnered With THQ, Reveals Costume Quest

The next project from the Tim Schafer-headed dev studio will, unsurprisingly, not be a huge retail product like Brütal Legend. Costume Quest is an action RPG taking place on Halloween night. You take the role of a trick-or-treater, collecting candy that will later fuel your transformation into a giant version of your costume to battle monsters. Sounds about right.

While the concept is bizarre enough to come from Schafer, the game is actually the creation of Double Fine Lead Animator Tasha Harris. As you might have guessed, the game is due this Halloween (October 31) on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

Just as many predicted, games are becoming so expensive to develop that less established studios are forced to reduce their project scope.
