I’m sure you’re not tired of hearing about Starcraft II yet. Blizzard announced today that their RTS sequel is pretty dang popular, selling 1.5 million units in the 48 hours since its global release. This earns the game a few titles: best-selling PC game of 2010, and fastest-selling strategy game ever.

Just for a bit of perspective, Starcraft II sold 1 million copies in the first 24 hours, while Modern Warfare 2 moved (approximately) 4.7 million in the first day. That said, console sales drop off quickly, while Blizzard games tend to sell for a decade or more. It’ll be interesting to see the sales numbers for Starcraft II over the coming year.
