The Halo: Reach developer blog brings word that Bungie has submitted the game to Xbox Certification, which means that “the only things standing between you all and Reach are the manufacturing process and shipping the discs to stores.”

Great news for Halo fans, but here’s another solid from Bungie. Anyone that authenticated a CD key for the original Halo: Combat Evolved for the PC will receive “a small “visual flair”" in Halo: Reach. Merely entering a multiplayer lobby in the game authenticates a key, so anyone that has done that before May 26, 2010 should be included. This also includes Halo for Mac, but sadly not the original Xbox, since Bungie has no way of verifying who actually played that.

Barring some weird issue in cert, Halo: Reach will release on the Xbox 360 on September 14.
