Sega Skipping Gamescom

Word from the Blue Hedgehog is that Sega is skipping the big European game show in Germany, Gamescom. No word on why as of yet.
While Germany still has their strange censorship laws that restrict what games can be shown at Gamescom, nothing in Sega’s lineup seems objectionable. As it stands, the next time we see Sega will likely be Tokyo Games Show. It’s too bad, as they had some good games showing at E3.
Sega seemed to have a good E3, showing off some impressive titles including one of my favorites Vanquish. Developed by Platinum Games (Okami, Bayonetta), Vanquish is the kind of quality action game we’ve come to expect from them.
I hope this doesn’t signal more trouble at Sega. Having already laid off most of their US development and marketing staff, there’s not much lower these guys can go before they are bought out.
