PlayStation Move Killed Heavy Rain DLC

Heavy Rain creator David Cage lamented that “Taxidermist Chronicles,” released alongside the Collector’s Edition in March, will probably be the only DLC released for the game. To make things even more tragic, Cage already penned scripts for three more Chronicles expansions that have been forsaken in favor of putting out a Move-enhanced version of the game.

“Chronicles as we saw them were ambitious and with high expectations. As explained, they are on hold to allow the team to work on Move and on new projects, and I doubt they will ever be produced,” Cage said.

While Cage admits he would have rather created the Chronicles prequels, Sony really wanted AAA mature titles for the PlayStation Move, so updating the game with Move support took priority.

“I understand Sony’s decision and it gave us the opportunity to explore new possibilities regarding controls. I am really proud of this Move edition and think it will surprise many gamers and show that Move can be used for things other than family entertainment,” Cage said. “Now as a writer and director, would I have preferred to work on the three Chronicles I wrote? Guess.”

As a player, would I rather wave around a glowing lollipop or play new and interesting content?  Guess.

Wave around a glowing lollipop. Only gamer’s would rather play new and interesting content. Players hate the game therefore they would rather wave around a glowing lollipop.
