Time Waster: Science Simulators

Scientists come up with the coolest ways to waste time while showing off some sort of scientific principle. Simulators are a great way to learn complex science models, especially physics, by messing around and seeing what happens.

The University of Colorado’s PhET Project has blessed the Internet with a bountiful collection of science sims. The funny thing is that, taken as a whole, this site might be a better minigame collection than most Wii titles.

Some are much better than others, mind you. I personally love My Solar System. Create a solar system and see if the laws of physics allow your creation to function.

The Circuit Construction Kit is fun to mess around with to.  All the fun of electricity with none of the crippling pain of electrocution.

I also like the Radioactive Dating Game because the title rules.

Yes, I’m a total geek.
